Have you tried a power washer? My husband has used ours to clean up some stray cement we dropped while pouring a foundation! It worked for us!

For herbs, if you don't mind a big reseeder, try borage. It grows very easily from seed (probably the way you'll have to buy it), it attracts bees like crazy (a good companion plant for those cukes and squash), and the star-shaped true blue flowers can be crystalized to put on cakes or eaten raw with the young leaves (they taste cucumberish and are very good in salads). When they start getting too big (up to 3' tall) and/or raggedy looking, just pull them up. If you let them go to seed, you'll probably be able to get two crops in one year.

Also, basil grows well (and tastes good!) with tomatoes and green peppers, tomatoes also like chives and parsley, and onion likes to grow with summer savory and chamomile. Thyme and sage are also pretty easy to grow and are perennials to boot (just trim them back by about 1/2 in early spring).

I will be starting most of my seedlings next weekend. I live in Illinois, zone 5. I'll wait a couple more weeks to start my tomatoes. I use those little Jiffy peat pellets. Once they start growing pretty good, I transfer them to peat pots with potting soil. But before I transfer them I take the netting off. Last year I had great results. I hope they come out good this year.

Is anyone familiar with a weed killer that can be used in cool temperatures? Heard about it awhile back on a garden radio show but didn't write down the information. It is for chickweed and other weeds that thrive in cooler temps. Thanks for any info. [color:green]

I have a ZZ plant, Zamioculcas zamiifolia, still in the original plastic pot from the nursery. The tuber is pushing on the inside of the pot, distorting the pot. Do ZZ plants like to be pot bound or is this a sign to pot up a size? Thanks for any help!
