brown needles Hinoki Cypress
#3
  Re: (0...)
I'd appreciate any advice! The interior needles of my slender hinoki cypress (Cham. obtusa 'Gracilis') have turned brown and fallen off. The needles near the ends of branches are still green and beautiful. What is the problem? I live in the DC suburbs and the plant gets plenty of sun and water.
Thanks, Bryan

If the needles on the interior of the plant are turning brown then they are not getting sufficient light. As a rule any insect problems would be on the newest, not the oldest growth.
