Trimming butterfly bushes?

We live in southern Indiana, currently Zone 5. Should I trim back our butterfly bushes before winter?

Oh No No!!!!! I to live in the same zone as you do,but in N.E.Pa.. No do not that for you will kill them. Wait to spring when you first see a little green from the branches then trim about May. They need to be left alone now and just let them be part of your landscape and for the birds to sit on them.
