striped guineas?

There is the cutest little striped gopher-like animal in my garden that is pretty little, about 5 inches maybe, brown with stripes, and sits up and watches me! Cute, but what is it called? I have heard the term "guinea", but cannot find any info on it. I live in Iowa. Thanks! Sue

Sounds like a chipmunk to me. Try a google search for a picture and see if it is!
