cleaning wall o water towers

What is the best way (or any way) to clean out the baffles in the "wall o water" towers? lindabf@comcast.net

If the insides need to be scrubbed, maybe try duct taping a baby bottle brush to a longer dowel? Also, they might make brushes for cleaning out your dryer vent (available at the home improvement center), but they might be too large &/or pokey.
