I searched for and planted Astrantia (rubra) after seeing an article about it in Garden Gate some years back. It's wonderful. I read that deadheading will encourage rebloom. Where do I deadhead on the plant. I have tried tops, down to the first leaf, and down to the base of the flowering stem. I have yet to get rebloom (after 3 years of trying). What am I doing wrong? Is it my timing? I deadhead when some of the flowers begin to fade and when most have faded. Still no rebloom.
