Even this early it has begun. There are tiny nodules and tunnel like formations throughout the stalk. Anyone have similar problems or a solution? We love to eat it, but lose a lot this way. Be sure the soil is very well endowed with organic matter, stays evenly moist but is well drained. The rhubabrb curculio is a black, weevil looking bug and can be hand picked while the larva of these buggers feed on dock, thistle, and sunflower stalks. A Bacillus thuringiensis - kurstaki spray can help there.
